(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Let's rewind to 2008. There was a Houston Rockets that was on a 22 game win streak. Their streak was snapped in a dominant, blow out fashion (97-74). The game was played on 3/18.

Fast forward to modern day, and the Miami Heat are on a 22 game win streak. Tomorrow is 3/18 and they play a Celtics team that still has Paul Pierce, Doc, and KG.

Here's why we will beat these cowards:

1. The Avery Bradley factor:

Without a doubt the best on ball, perimeter defender. This guy is a defensive freak. Literally every marquee matchup, he ends up making his oppositions' night a living hell, holding almost everyone to below their season averages. Avery Bradley has played 20+ minutes against Miami, four times in his career. The Celtics are 4-0 in those games. Dwyane Wade sat out one of those games for rest, but has played in the other three - and been completely neutralized by Bradley.

2. Welcome to the Jungle

The Celtics have generally been a dominant home court team. The first half of this season has been different, but since Rondo went down, we haven't lost at home. Oh and just to let you know, we started our 11 game home winning streak against the Heat in January.

3. Defense

Our defense was shaky earlier in the year but is now again one of the league's bests. KG and Avery Bradley are both lead candidates for defensive player of the year and the rest of the team is playing good D as well. We won't the beat the Heat in a shootout but we will if we smother them on the other end. Here's what Tracy McGrady said after the Celtics ended their 22 game winning streak:

Bradley and Garnett have historically dominated Wade and Bosh defensively. Lebron will get his buckets but Paul Pierce and Jeff Green will D him up as much as possible. It's really about containing Lebron and shutting everyone else down which we can do.

4. Bench

Our bench is one of the most versatile and deadly in the NBA. We have Jason Terry, Jordan Crawford, Jeff Green, Terrence Williams. If these guys come to play tomorrow along with our defense, the Heat don't stand a chance.

5. All Good Things Come to an End

The Heat won't streak forever and in a way, it'd be good for them to lose tomorrow. They've been on overdrive the last few weeks trying to keep this win streak alive which is fatiguing them for the playoffs. They only need like 3 or 4 more wins to clinch the #1 seed anyways so no need to get players killed in the quest of a streak. Everything is set up for the perfect storm tomorrow with the 22 game streak and the date.

The Celtics are coming to play.

I don't really know an awful lot about the NBA but after seeing the highlights every morning on Sky Sports News all they talk about is the Miami Heat and LeBron James, if it's bad like that here in the UK it must be magnified over there in the States. I'd imagine Boston will be determined and highly revved up to knock the Heat off of their almighty pedestal, as said in point #5, it has to end at some stage.

You have no idea. I stopped watching ESPN because the Lebron dickriding is so unbearable. And yeah, Boston has genuine dislike for the Heat. I love it. We got OG, smashmouth players like Paul Pierce and KG that don't care if you like them or not. They just want to win. Unlike Lebron who cares oh so much about his image.

After his ass got beat by the Mavericks in the finals, he went on record to say that he just wants to be liked. After that we started seeing all this crap all over the media about how Lebron is so nice giving away shoes, or how Lebron is so nice he told his team's security to let some fans in, or about how Lebron is hugging fans now. I don't buy any of that shit. It's all publicity that him and his agents probably talk about. This isn't a conspiracy either. You're kidding yourself if you don't think athletes do stuff like this on purpose just to be liked.

While I'm not a Heat fan, I don't think the Celts will beat them tomorrow. Outside the Spurs with a healthy Tony Parker, I don't think ANY team can beat the Heat right now. Obviously, in a one game situation, anything can happen.

First off, Bradley is an elite defender, perhaps even better than Tony Allen or a Sefolosha. But this is the Miami heat. Bradley may be able to shut down DWade (who is in fine form, the healthiest he's been in a long time), but there's still Chris Bosh who has been on a roll on the Heat's win streak. Not dickriding Lebron James, but he is again frontrunner for MVP. Pierce is a good defender when he's focused (and he will be tomorrow), but he is 35. Also, keep in mind that Garnett might sit tomorrow, and even if he does play he just came off an injury.

I agree, playing in the TD garden in a back-to-back will be difficult, but the Heat will be motivated since they are on the verge of owning the longest win streak in NBA history.

While Boston does have a deep bench, so does Miami. Chris Andersen has been a great pickup; Shane Battier is knocking down threes like no tomorrow; Ray Allen is playing well; Norris Cole does great backing up an inconsistent Chalmers.

And I do kinda agree with your last point, but personally, I'd rather steamthrough into the playoffs (likely against the Bucks) with a ton of momentum than have to turn on the tryhard button when in the playoffs.

I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow. My heart is going with Boston (always been a Rondo kinda guy even though he's not playing), but my mind is telling me Miami.

EDIT: And lets not forget about the Heat D. Man, when they're focused on defense, watch out.

Bradley will suffocate Wade and Garnett has historically dominated Bosh defensively (they say he's 50/50 for tomorrow so let's hope for the best). All we need to do is contain Lebron and I think Pierce and Jeff Green are up for the task. As for the bench, I'd say only Battier is the standout at the moment. Ray has been in a big slump and Norris Cole is very inconsistent. Birdman is alright but he's not good enough to impact the game in any significant way.

Spurs, Pacers, Celtics, and possibly the Bulls (if Rose comes back strong) can take Miami. Celtics should have beat them last year but that was the most poorly officiated series since the 2002 WCF. They called 5 technicals on us in game 1, all of which weren't warranting a technical. Then game 2 they miss such a clear foul in OT when Rondo was driving and he got slapped in the face by Wade. Only game I'll give to Heat is game 6 when Lebron came to play when no one else did.

If our squad was fully healthy, I'd be so much more confident in our playoff run. We lost Sullinger and Rondo. Two guys CRITICAL to our team's success. But we're the Celtics. We deal with this kinda crap every year. Huge blows via injuries happen to us every year but we always show perseverance and keep fighting.

One thing I've learned being a lifelong Celtics fan is NEVER count the Paul Pierce era team out. Whether we're an underdog, injured, or down by 50 in the 3rd quarter. We always show tremendous heart and will and can get whatever job done.

Man I hope KG plays today. I know we'd rather lose this game and have KG come playoffs but I hate the Heat with such a ferocious passion! See you at tipoff!
