Default How to crack passwords! -[BASIC]-

Hey guys, today I have a bit of a sneaky tutorial. I will be showing you how to crack hashes. Common algorithms can be found here: .

In this process you will require the following things.

    • Winrar/Extracting Utility
    • Hashcat-GUI:
    • The password you need to crack
    • Wordlists:
    • Brain
    • Patience

After you have downloaded the Hashcat GUI interface you will have to extract all the files. This software is mass compressed, it will take a long time to extract as it is about 1.66GB large.

Then you will have to download the wordlists with the link given. These are basic text files including just words, numbers and symbols. The program(hashcat) will go through each word, hash it to your input algorithm and match it with your given hash. It will repeat this process through all of the words and you will get your answer, BUT NOTE you WONT ALWAYS get the password. It all depends on the password strength, so ultimately it's better to have alot of wordlists. PLACE ALL WORDLISTS IN ONE FOLDER, AFTER EXTRACTION!

When you have downloaded all the required things and you're ready to go open up Notepad and put your hash in. If you want to put multiple hashes separate them with line breaks and MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE SAME TYPE. Then save the Notepad document as a .txt on your desktop or where ever.
For this tutorial I will be using the password: lol encrypted in MD5 -> 9cdfb439c7876e703e307864c9167a15.

Open up hashcat according to your OS Bit version (32/64). When you open up the program you will be prompted with:

Select "CPU ONLY". Then your main interface will open up.

On the interface select these options.

After selecting your relevant options click the "Start" button on the bottom left of the interface.

A command prompt console should pop up and it will handle the process. Be patient this will take time depending on the amount of your wordlists, the strength of the passwords also the speed of your CPU.

If your password cracked it should look like:

There you should have successfully cracked your hash!! Don't give-up if you didn't crack your passwords, keep looking for wordlists or you can even request cracking at: or you could even request it on my thread:

If you have anymore questions regarding to cracking or using this program please PM me or post below. Hope this tutorial was useful.

Yeah I guess it depends on encryptions, but this has most common algorithms for attacks and I normally use it to crack vBulletin or MD5 hashes .

I find that hashcat offers more features and consists of a better interface . Nonetheless PasswordsPro is also a very stable program.

Should I download the whole list of wordlists? Or just English?

Download all the wordlists as the password your cracking can be in any language. Never miss out chances to grab free or even paid wordlists .

this is a long way to do it , only do this if you know nothing of the encryption alg type and most encryptions you will never crack with your computer alone , what you would use this for is something like md5 hash's or similar using it on sha 2 combined with another encryption would take you years doing it this way

Encrypt your information in AES256 then cover it up by SHA256 or MD5. It is then made impossible to crack no matter what.

I know it is the long way to do it, and the interface only offers a few ecryption methods. Personally I use Rainbow table's including PHP algorithm conversions that are available to try and crack some hashes. But again I based this tutorial on newbies. Thanks for reading.

I am going to be adding similar encryptions to my new authorisation scripts. I wonder how RSA keys work, they are very effective.

Read this, I didn't even know and I'm intrigued.

What are you making anyways that you would want an auth script for?

I'm not making anything, I just got into encryption and decryption. I am only knowledgeable at a basic extent, and I am finding this subject abit interesting. + I have looked into RSA quite abit as I used to work for a company before that used this system.
