After Effects CS5.5 way better than Sony Vegas.

After effects needs to be used in combination with Vegas, it can't really be used as a standalone unless you are going for light editing.

Think of Vegas as the cake, and After Effects is the sprinkles, whipped cream and cherries on top.

I prefer vegas, simple user interface, easy to learn, easy to use all in all an easy editing program which can provide great editing. Search youtube for JCRFT and he does amazing sony vegas only edits. I do vegas only editing but its not as good. If you get vegas you will want all the OFX plugins though, search for cracks for newblue FX and saphire edge FX as well as Twixtor

I did in premium GFX but some of the links were megaupload and i dont have the plugins anymore I have some torrented ones but i wont upload them.
