After a rather long way, Xbox One has finally been made available for pre-order as I’m writing in Japan through several retailers. The console, which will be released on September 4th, can be pre-ordered in three different boxes: with Kinect, without Kinect and Day One, including Titanfall and Kinect Sports Rivals in the familiar and sleek black box.
At the moment the console is readily available everywhere, and didn’t go sold-out as fast as the PS4 did as soon as the floodgates were opened, but I doubt anyone expected that kind of performance.
The Xbox 360 surely didn’t have a stellar career in the archipelago of the rising sun, and it’ll be interesting to see if its new generation successor will manage to make a dent on a market that traditionally belongs to Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft definitely seems to be trying to pull its weight as much as possible. We’ll see if it’ll be enough this time around. After all, third time’s a charm.
