Hello all

I have been looking into this packet injection hack that you lot are so keen to understand. I have collected all the information posted on the forums about this cheat/hack and I want you all to know that I am now able to capture the packets through the Ethernet port connected to the PS3. I am currently in the proccess of analysing the packets being sent to and from the network so I can hopefully get a few hacks working (in game) without the need to change any files on the ps3 itself.

I will be using the following packet capturing software to collect as much information as I can and to find out for myself what is the best software to use.

USING:

Packetyzer
Commview
Wireshark
Cain & Abel

Its not going to be easy and if I do find something that can be used to cheat in the game I will not be publishing it because this is only for learning and interest purposes. Not only that but Call of Duty will be ruined by kids playing with the hacks that I publish and I don't want to be responsible for ruining a perfect game that I only use for my enjoyment WITHOUT USING hacks. If I find hacks that work I will NOT be using them to cheat during the games I play. Like I said this is only for my learning and interest purposes.

I will however post information in this thread about what I find incase you are wandering "does it work?" "is it easy?" "have you found anything interesting?" things like that. We all know that it can be done in some way or another, but to me its WHAT can be done that counts, and I know alot of people will be interested in what can be done but others will probably flame me for even trying this which is understandable in some ways but I assure you this is only for those of you that are interested in this topic NOT FOR USING THE HACKS FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT.

I will help those that want to start capturing (connecting to the ps3 & sniffing the packets) but I will not be giving out information on HOW TO INJECT "the right edited packets" for the sake of the online gaming experiance. You will need to discover that for yourself as Im sure you understand my reasons for this.

I will certainatly keep those who are interested updated on what I find, but so far Im just collecting as much information as possible.

Yeap, I do need some help with this..I wouldn't mind a PM from someone that knows this stuff or how to do it. Im thinking its as simple as injecting a RAW packet with CVARs included but I could be wrong.

Haven't done injecting anything yet until I know what to inject. I have given up on looking into tricking the server into thinking that the Game Save data is original when really it has the codes provided by PhaeZ due to the fact that there must be an easier way of doing this, I know people are using hacks for COD on ps3 as we speak..its a question of how. This one guy that I was spectating in HS&D knew where everyone was (no radar) and he hid behind walls only appearing when eneymies are coming closer on the opposite side..wall hack? :S His shots were pretty much spot on aswel, he could just be good..but I haven't seen anyone act like this before..we all know this game has hacks, so whats to say this dude didn't use them lol.

EDIT: I think by blocking the "Download Game Settings" packet will not stop the game save from being overwritten because the packets from an unedited GPAD0 file are the same as the edited one when capturing packets as soon as the "Play Online" is selected. It must be when the "Reading HDD" appears that the overwriting takes place capturing as soon as the "Muliplayer" is selected because there seems to be a signifcant difference in packets. By blocking the "Download Game Settings" will probably stop you from receievng your rank and other statistics from the server..I think that is what its doing. So if the file can be changed after patch, capturing and comparing the packets from the original file to the edited file when the "Reading HDD" appears and by blocking that packet and replacing it with the packet from the original file packet caputure is your best bet in my opinion. But Im looking into raw sockets to inject CVAR codes into the game as I think this could be a much easier way of doing it. With a raw packet the server will accept anything. If anyone has information on this please post or send me a pm so we can nail this once and for all but this is as close as Ive got so far so any help will be appreciated

I need help capturing. When I start the packet sniffer it captures packets before I turn on my PS3. I have nothing open no iexplorer or online games or anything but right when I hit capture I recieve about 100 packets per 5 sec. I am currently using commview and wireshark. Plz help me.
