This is an excellent guide, I just bought a 320 gig Western Digital and install it, and woola it works. My friends list are all there. One question though, How can I transfer the game that I purchase on PSN to this new drive. Do I have to redownload everything or is there a better way. I know somebody mention about using the usb cable but how. Thanks

I can officially say that i'm 250gb.. Even though when it got done reformating it bumped me down to 232gb.. But it's all good.. Preciate the info cuz..

I went with the 250 mb with the 7200 rpm and the 16 mb cache with hopes that it will run a little faster. when your signed in with your new hard drive, you go into the PS store under your name and go to view downloads in the top right corner. there you can re download anything you have previously downloaded/bought.

Thanks man i just bought a 120 gb harddrive from ebay 120GB 2.5 SATA NOTEBOOK DRIVE 5400RPM DRIVE SALE - eBay (item 120328666902 end time Dec-03-08 19:02:33 PST)
and ill be upgading my old 40gb. Also one question how do i save everything i have in my ps3 40gb harddrive and transfer it to the 120 gb one?

Update: Installed 250 mb hdd w/ 7200 rpm and a 16 cache and it works great! Installation was very simple, backing up took longer than install. Playing cod4 this weekend I could notice a small amount of extra speed, but it was more noticeable in Bioshock. Get the 7200 rpm
