Welcome to NextGenUpdate,
First of all, welcome everyone. Before I go on to the announcement, I would just like to let everyone know that NGU (NextGenUpdate) is where I will be at on the internet and it is what I will be advertising.
If you are from NGB, you may ask the following questions:
Why the switch?
- Well, why not? NGB was just sort of getting old for me. Running this new place will motivate me to make more videos and be more interactive with the community.
Will the staff be the same?
- Some people will have the opportunity, but for the most part, no.
Will donators still get special privileges here?
- Yes, same as on NGB.
What about my post count
?
- Sorry, you have to start over here.
How about banned users on NGB?
- Everyone is allowed a fresh start here, everyone. This is by no means NGB
I like NGB, Why should I switch?
- I'm not forcing you to. As the original creator, advertiser, everything of NGB, I still would like it to be successful, and with 50000 members, it still will be.
Will users have more voice in the community?
- Yes they will; that is a main issue I want to work out on NGU at the beginning. But will members have the voice of opinion on mods? Um, no.
So now on my expectations of NGU. Do I expect the place to grow to NGB size in 5 days. No, not at all. But I do expect NGU to grow at a faster rate in the beginning compared to NGB. I know now exactly how to run and create a great community due to my experience at NextGenBoards.
My plans for this site and community are great. I feel as if I could create a whole network of websites around this one as well, and I still have plans for my two blogs which I started on NGB. Those two blogs would be theps3update.com and the360update.com.
Now for the staff. I do not plan to have even close to the same staff as on NGB although some NGB users will be given the opportunity to moderate here. Now as you can tell, the start of NGU is similar to the start of eXoHax (NGB), with myself and Coltz as admins. If you did not join during Coltz's administrator time, he was once an admin until he became fairly inactive, although he plans to be very active here.
All right, now this is the important part. What I need for this site is at least 1-2 more experienced people at coding and 2 good graphics designers for logos, banners, etc.
Also, I'd hate to do this, although for this site to get going in a great way, it is going to take some money. I will cover a majority of the cost, including these wish I've bought: vBulletin License (160$),
vBseo (149$), and soon enough if the site expands, we will need a Dedicated server which will be 100$+ per month. I'm asking for at least 100$ from the community. It is really not that much, and if everyone donates say 1$, we could get there rather quick, but... everyone won't donate. I'm not asking for the world here, but I need some help...
This is the original announcement for NGU. So now, everyone has a chance to be an 'original' member of the new community at NextGenUpdate.com
