back in the exohax days advertising was encouraged but the problem was ppl would start spamming other sites with our site and it didn't really ehlp, didnt bring a ton of new members.. so idk if this is a great idea

There is no way outsider has the money to advertise on television. And besides ign,gamespot,and gamewinners those big name websites for info and cheats doesn't really even edvertise on television.What we can do it make really good and entertaining glitchvideoes with NextGenUpdate - Powered by vBulletin somewhere in it so people join.

If forum members can't even fork over $10 to help host the site, how do you think we would raise enough money for a TV ad? Local ads would cost $100+, but since we're not targeting a specific local area, it would cost thousands of $ for a nation-wide TV ad. Plus, if people actually went to the site after seeing the ad, it would probably overwhelm the servers without prior planning (which would cost even more $).

Money is the limiting factor. The most viable solution would be to advertise via websites such as YouTube, Tinypic.com, etc. Posting ads on other forums is usually against their policies and won't help NGU. I know Outsider and Coltz currently put videos on YouTube, but if everyone else did the same to contribute, the site would grow even faster.

If anyone knows of some good non-intrusive ways we can advertise for no cost let everyone know.

According to Alexa, the number of page views NGU receives is close to the number NGB receives. NGB has been on a downward slope, so hopefully NGU will start picking up.
