Treyarch Teases Information About Black Ops 3 Zombies 'DLC 4'

Skeletons will be 'put to rest' in the Call of Duty Zombies saga as developments are made towards the final Black Ops 3 DLC.

Is it almost time for a new Call of Duty? With November quickly approaching, anticipation begins to build for Black Ops 3's final downloadable-content (DLC) expansion. While the next DLC has yet to be named, senior executive producer Jason Blundell of Treyarch has started to hint at ideas the 'Zombies' team will use to wrap up the Black Ops 3 Zombies saga.

Interviewing with GameStop, Blundell went on to speak extensively about the storyline and where the final Black Ops 3 map is headed:

{quote}At the end of Black Ops 2, I think I enraged the community some when I put in this video that showed Samantha in a house with a boy called Edward. They were playing with zombie toys. Then an alarm goes off and you hear Max's voice calling them down to the basement. The characters say, 'I wish our heroes in our stories were real.' Then we dropped to black. That was the end of Black Ops 2. People lost their s***.{/quote}

Blundell adds more to the discussion as he begins to give us a glimpse into what we may expect from DLC 4 and it's Zombie storyline:
{br}

{quote}I've still technically to this day not answered that question of what that was and why that was there. That will be answered by the end of DLC 4. I believe that the ending of DLC 4 will spark emotion in the players, which is my goal. It's not out of the desire for trolling, as people say. No, what I want to do is have you have complex and differing thoughts on what you've experienced and what your view is. I hope that's what we generate when we come to the end of DLC 4.{/quote}{br}

If you're hoping for early leaks, it more than likely will not be the case when it comes to the Zombies finale. According to Blundell, the team that develops the Zombie game mode is "a very tight group."

While not yet confirmed, a release date for October or early November is probable on Playstation 4, with PC and Xbox One following shortly after, based on the imminent release of Infinity Ward's next Call of Duty title. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the next title in the series, hits shelves on November 4th.
