Ark: Survival Evolved Mod Gives New Meaning to Pokémon Hunting

A new, stunning mod named Pokémon Evolved allows you to hunt the virtual creatures in the world of Ark: Survival Evolved.

We've seen Pokémon mods for other games before, but not quite like this. A new mod created for the world of Ark: Survival Evolved takes hunting Pokémon to the next level.

The new mod, named Pokémon Evolved, brings stellar models of the virtual creatures into Ark: Survival Evolved and instead of hunting animals, you hunt Pokémon. The mod also shifts some of the games features to adhere to a broad Pokémon experience that doesn't only involve killing the poor Nintendo creatures.

The developer of Pokémon Evolved states:

Instead of gathering resources, you will gather credits by killing Pokémon. Once you have gained credits you can use the credits in the [in-game] Poké terminal.

Pokémon Evolved is developed and maintained by developer Mystic Academy on the Steam Workshop. Although the mod has been hit with a (seemingly false) Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) claim, the developers have continued to stick to their development and the claim has since been lifted.

This mod was created to bring a whole new world to the players of Ark. Like many other Ark players, I had become bored with just modding dinos and the other Ark craftables. The team went ahead and started to create a conversion to Ark that would remove everything that you are used to and replace it with the style from Pokémon.

This mod can only be used on the PC version of Ark: Survival Evolved through the Steam workshop, although the game is also available on Xbox One and PS4.
