the length is 61d.
Save the file as _missions_comp.gsc and edit as normal.
Then repack it.

you can edit his patch it gives you a blackscreen if you change i letter. it wont work

Maybe he has a checksum and if it's changed, the file won't work.

no i have edited plenty of enough patchs to know, hunter did something to bgalex patch to make it un editable

Did you make sure you changed the hex values of the size of the file in the dat files?
Try changing like BGALex to BGFlex and see what happends.
