I forgot who told me but I had this problem and I did this and it worked. Click the link and download the file and it should fix your problem.

This error is caused by missing directx files, or in our case and older version of the file has overwritten a newer file which is causing an incompatibility issue, To fix This problem you simply need to update your DirectX version.. You can update your DirectX by downloading & running this tool. This will solve your Call of Duty World at War error message when trying to start the pc demo.

well theres another error actually after u download that another error comes up sayin "directx has encountered an unrepairable error" so now what

Yea I downloaded it and still had the same error pop up. Repeated downloads 3 times and same results. I don't care that much I'll wait the 2 weeks before it comes out on PS3.

ya like the pearson said above me that other error i instalded it reinstaled it uninstaled it then instaled it and still an error comes up
