Here's a program I made to simulate the classic Game of Life as described by Conway (see You must login or register to view this content. if you have no clue what I'm talking about). It's a C# .Net 3.5 application, so install .Net 3.5 (You must login or register to view this content.) if you don't already have it.

Usage is pretty self explanatory:

1. Resize the window to the desired size.
2. Left click the white area to set cells. Right click to unset.
3. Set the desired live and spawn settings, or use the defaults.
4. Click Start to run and Stop to pause execution.
Note: Resizing or minimizing the window will stop and clear the simulation.

My favorite setting is Live: 2,3,4 and Spawn: 2 so give that a try if you don't feel like experimenting.

I uploaded a new version. It has a Load Image button to let you load in images like the ones you can find at You must login or register to view this content.. Just copy the image URL and paste it in the Open File dialog then click Open.
