This thread is to provide all the rules and information you will need in order to not have any issues within this section. Please read the rules carefully, and check them every so often as some rules may be changed, removed, or added. Please also remember that all You must login or register to view this content. still apply!

In order to open a dispute you must have the following:

  • Date of purchase/Date item was sold
  • Username of the member that scammed you
  • Proof of the transaction (whether SBPM, PM, or PayPal transaction)
  • Depending on scenario, proof of site contact

We are now re-accepting disputes for auctions or services that have been carried out over third party applications such as Skype providing the accused in question has made initial contact via the site and/or the accused has a shop and/or has third party application details on site that refer to an auction or service. However, if this method has been carried out then you must follow a different template layout for your dispute which is detailed below!

This rule was visited due to the amount of disputes being turned down which is frankly un-acceptable, furthermore 90% of shop owners on NextGenUpdate provide third party contact details which would need to be removed if the rule continued to be enforced.

If you have been scammed by a member fully offsite but know the user, or for any other reason you cannot open an official dispute, than you can post a thread about your experience in the You must login or register to view this content..

When opening a dispute, it must be displayed the same as the template below, the template includes the information you should have gathered.

Refund Policies
It should be noted that NextGenUpdate are NOT held responsible for any transactions be it via online payment methods or gift cards. We are also NOT responsible for any gift card returns or online transaction refunds. The responsibility for refunds is held strictly on the user(s) being disputed and if they do not comply, on the basis a refund has been agreed upon, then NextGenUpdate will take the necessary actions to remove them from site and that is the extent of our responsibility.

Disputes Against Giveaways
Members can now open a Dispute against other members hosting a giveaway that they believe to be fake. They are only eligible to do so if they have won the giveaway and have been delayed or stalled on receiving their prize.

Userbars and Threads
Members being Disputed will not receive an Accused Scammer bar on their profile but we reserve the right to suspend or terminate any Current or Future disputes from said member.

User Bans
Failing to respond to a dispute or failing to result it will commonly result in the accused account being banned. We are willing to unban accounts if the accused is going to resolve the dispute in full, generally with a full refund to the original user. This is case by case basis and the victim of the scam has a say on if they would like the user to refund under the terms they will be allowed back on site.

Being banned and coming back does effect your ability to sell or also resulting in profile conviction but this is again case by case and we will decide what actions shall be taken if this is the outcome of a dispute.
