The Galaxy Note 6 may be months away from its official launch, but it is supposedly appearing in benchmark tests already. Screenshots from CPU-Z hint at a larger display, 6GB of RAM, and the same Exynos 8890 chipset used in the Galaxy S7 series.

Samsung is expected to stick with a Quad HD panel (rather than upgrading to 4K) for the Galaxy Note 6, but it will be slightly larger at 5.77 inches — up from 5.7 inches — according to early benchmarks sent into PhoneArena by someone claiming to be a Samsung employee.

The benchmarks also show a whopping 6GB of RAM and an Exynos 8890 processor, while the tipster adds that the device will also pack a 3,700mAh battery, and IP68 certification for dust- and water-resistance just like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

They also claim that although the Galaxy Note 6 tested here was running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the final version will launch with Android N pre-installed.

Some of these things line up with a recent Galaxy Note 6 rumor, which also promised a water-resistant design and an insane amount of RAM. However, that rumor also claimed the device would have a more powerful Snapdragon 823 processor.

It’s likely there will be both Exynos and Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy Note 6, but if Samsung really is sticking with the Exynos 8890 for one of them, it seems unlikely it would put an even more powerful Snapdragon chip in the other, creating a gap between the two.

It should be noted, however, that benchmarks like this are easily faked. Until Samsung makes it all official, then, don’t read too much into them.
