I cannot gurantee that it will work for everyone as it could have been pure luck. It took me four downloads. (My isp is Virgin Media, router super hub 2).
1. Wireless - didn't work.
2. Wireless, firewall disabled - didn't work.
3. Wired, firewall disabled - didn't work.

4. Wired, firewall disabled, enabled "modem mode" in router settings, changed DNS settings on ps3 to 8.8.8.8 (primary) and 8.8.4.4 (secondary), and kept the download in the foreground - worked.
