(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I decided to look up the earlier versions of GTA 5 by looking through the trailers, gamefiles and screenshoots to see what got changed/removed or whatever.

GTA:Online

- In GTA Online beta, you were meant to join a gang such as the Lost or the Vagos, but got removed for unknown reason. Here are some logos and menu screenshots from the Online gangs.

Gameplay

- Mechanic Skill (Probably merged with Driving skill)

- Players would be able to go through Drive-Thrus at Up'n'Atom (seen in Up'n'Atom Commercial)

You must login or register to view this content.

- Players were able to order Tacos at the Taco Van

Characters

- Michael looked much older and had more wrinkles and grayer hair. As seen in trailer 1, Michael had green eyes. In the Michael trailer, he had brown eyes. Although they were changed back to green in the final version.

- Franklin had lighter skin and looked a bit different

- In the First Person Experience Trailer, Trevor didn't have scars on his hands.

Cut Missions

- A heist called The Sharmoota Job was cut. It had three options (Night Stealth, High Impact and Clown Day Stealth) and two preparation missions. (There was meant to use horses)

The Sharmoota Job (Also known as The Nice House Heist) is a cut heist that originally appeared in the beta of Grand Theft Auto V. It involved Michael and Trevor robbing the mansion owned by Martin Madrazo. The player had to steal a safe, Madrazo's prized horse and kidnap his wife. The only leftovers are the text entries describing the heist, a very old minimap icon and some mission-specific sound files.

You must login or register to view this content.

Preparation

- To perform the heist, Michael and Trevor would have to view the house. They gain entry by booking an appointment to view the house, which has recently come onto the market. Michael and Trevor are given a tour of the house under the guise of prospective buyers.

The Heists Options

Night Stealth

- Michael and Trevor enter the house during the night using stealth. Patricia Madrazo is disturbed whilst the heist is in progress, so the player would have to tie her up. The player then removes the safe from the wall, steals the horse and kidnaps Patricia.

High Impact

- Michael and Trevor, disguised as mime artists, enter the house during a party and tie up the guests. Madrazo's guards arrives and a shootout begins. The player removes the safe, steals the horse and takes Patricia Madrazo hostage.

Clown Day Stealth

- Michael and Trevor, disguised this time as clowns, arrive at the house during a party. They steal the safe using stealth and perform party tricks to gain access to the stables. They steal Madrazo's horse and escape with the horse, safe and Martin's wife.

Since the PC version has been released, "new" files have been found. These are "destruction" files, that means, the room will look like this after robbing it.

- A mission involving Michael stealing a Harrier jet for Solomon Richards was cut.

Michael plants bombs in the underground tunnel. He then stops a convoy and detonates explosives so a Harrier jet falls through the hole in ground and then steals it.

- Similar to this cut mission, there is a planned heist that will be included in GTA Online that involves stealing the Hydra from an aircraft carrier.

- A mission involving Michael saving the film studio for Solomon Richards was cut.

It is unknown what was supposed to be done in this mission as there is no description. As the name suggests, it would most likely involve Michael having to secure or defend the film studio in some way. The mission would probably have be given to the player by Devin Weston. It may have originally taken place after the mission Legal Trouble, or even its beta name, as it fills the third mission slot for Solomon.

- A mission called Social Networking for Devin Weston that included a appearance of Brucie Kibbutz was cut. (Brucie Kubbitz used to be a character in GTA IV, although he's still appears in GTA Online)

Franklin has to get a photo of a hot girl and set up a Lifeinvader account for her. He then chats up Brucie Kibbutz and arranges to meet so he can steal his Stinger with a unique ALPHADOG license plate. Franklin pays a call girl to go out with Brucie and drops her off at the meet point. Then he follows Brucie and the girl. At the destination, Trevor bursts in on them and takes incriminating photos to put on Lifeinvader, and while everyone is distracted, Franklin steals Brucie's car.

- This mission would be the first one of Devin's Strand. Then would be Eye in the Sky then, finally, I Fought The Law... and afterwards Deep Inside and Pack Man.

- Ironically, the way Franklin would have lured Brucie out is a similar way that Brucie told Niko Bellic to use in the Grand Theft Auto IV mission "Out of the Closet" to lure Tom Rivas to his death. The main differences being Franklin poses as a woman, whilst Niko poses as a gay man, and Franklin uses "Lifeinvader", whilst Niko uses "Love-Meet".

- Despite this mission was cut, the Stinger is still seen carried with the stolen cars in Pack Man, instead of being deleted or replaced. It is likely that Lamar stole the Stinger in the release as he says to Trevor I jacked the last of THEM rides, implying he stole more than one. This would explain the gap between Deep Inside and Pack Man.

- A mission called Final Furlong for Solomon Richards was cut. It is unknown if it was a separate mission or the old name for The Ballad of Rocco as both missions take the same place in a mission strand.

- Michael had two Strangers and Freaks missions with a lady called Magenta that were cut. She still appears in game at the start of the mission The Long Stretch.

- Franklin had two Stranger and Freaks missions with a man called Dale.

- Franklin had five Stranger and Freaks missions with two fighting neighbours.

- Two unknown missions for "The Band" were cut. One involved bringing the band members back together and the second involved stopping Trevor from sabotaging the concert.

- Another Strangers and Freaks mission for Barry was cut. It involved Franklin stealing a helicopter with weed.

Cut Side Missions

- Vigilante Missions were removed.

- Pimping was removed.

- Mini-Games like Basketball, Air Hockey, Pool, Bowling, weightlifting, and stealing/exporting were cut.

- 14 Arms Trafficking Ground missions were cut.

- Towing Patrol odd job was cut. It involved the player driving a Tow Truck on a freeway, towing away broken cars to keep the traffic flowing as long as possible.

- Towing Illegally Parked Vehicles odd job was cut.

- A street race for Hao in the Terminal was cut.

- Formation Display Flight School lesson was cut.

- The following Random Events were cut:

Broken Down 1

Broken Down 2 'Hot Chick'

Broken Down 3

Broken Down 4

Broken Down 6

Broken Down 7

Broken Down 8

Broken Down 9

Broken Down 10

Hitch Lift 4

Mugging 4

Pick Pocket

RC Challenge Mode

Rescue Hostage

Tow Truck

Ungrateful Whore and Wanderer

Animals

- Chop originally wore just a plain brown collar (as seen in screenshots and trailers).

- There were more dog breeds (eg. Huskies, Files can be found). These were postponed till the enchanced version.

- Horses were meant to appear in the game, meaning that they most likely would of been seen in the Vinewood Racetrack (removed for unknown reasons, as files "left over" could have been similar to Red Dead Redemption).

Map

- Fort Zancudo had a civilian-accessible road passing trough it.

You must login or register to view this content.

- The Grand Senora Desert was originally going to be much bigger.

You must login or register to view this content.

- Los Santos Elementary School shown in Sue Murry's campaigning got changed to as the training center for the ULSA in Richman.

- There were more pedestrians and palm trees around Vespucci Beach, also on the whole map. They were removed likely due to the limited RAM of the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Weapons

The following weapons got removed or changed during development, though they could be released as DLC in the future.

- The Shovel.

- The Wrench (as seen in the mission By The Book).

- The Fire Extinguisher. (can be obtain by a trainer, only on modded consoles)

- The Fire Axe. (Re-added in new Gen)

- The Lasso.

- The Heavy Rifle, a SCAR-like assault rifle, probably being replaced by the Carbine Rifle.

- The Assault Sniper, a M14 sniper rifle.

- The Programmable AR, a XM25 airburst grenade launcher.

- The Assault MG, a LMG Light machine gun.

- The Thermite Bomb.

- Dippo Zippo Lighter.

- Laser sights were cut.

Others

- In the "Pisswasser" commercial, you'll notice a horse.

- Martin Madrazo's mistress' mansion was originally much more detailed, had a detailed interior and was enterable. (Seen in trailer 1, possibly a safehouse.)

You must login or register to view this content.

- The Dan Houser Birthday house was much more detailed and possibly a safehouse due to a window being open as seen in trailer 1. (Also known as the 2405 house.)

You must login or register to view this content.

- Tequila-La was originally open all the time and possibly a functioning club like in TBOGT.

You must login or register to view this content.

- Franklin's second safe house had a different layout.

- According to a Game Informer interview released in November 2012, it seems that grass had a glossy sheen of morning dew, and alarm systems installed in rich houses on Vinewood Hills and Richman. In the actual release, these features are dropped.

- The Parachute had the same color scheme as it did in The Ballad of Gay Tony according to the screenshot.

- The ability to buy properties on the internet was cut for the storymode. Dialogue exists in the games files mentioning this however.

PIC

- The player was originally able to buy drugs from Smoke on the Water but this ability was removed for an unknown reason. In the final game, Franklin maybe seen exiting the store when switching to him, implying that he has purchased something from it.

- Cops in the game were meant to use Tasers at wanted levels also they were meant to use batons as well, they have the baton in their inventory but they never use it.

- Female officers were meant to patrol with male officers, however they can only be seen at the station.

- The police were meant to arrest the player for speeding or ignoring traffic lights but this was removed for unknown reasons making the game unrealistic, but probably because the feature would become repetitive, as most players in general simply just drive past the lights and traffic.

- Modifications to vehicles such as Bass Boost, Nitro and Hydraulics would have returned in GTA V, but most of them were cut during development. Through modding software however, it is possible to modify vehicles to have the Nitro and Hydraulics abilities, however it is unknown how to activate them and it's more likely that these are just parts of unused code.

- There were originally different car exhaust sounds.

- In another screenshot, Franklin can be seen walking away from Families members being arrested by the police. Although, no such event is seen in-game.

- In the beta, some police vehicles, particularly Sheriff's Cruisers had older coloured San Andreas license plates, as opposed to the SA Exempt plate found in game on all emergency vehicles.

- In the second trailer, a silver 9F is seen parked in Michael's driveway, in the same spot where Tracy's Issi would spawn from time to time. Since Amanda's Sentinel was already seen in that trailer, it used to belong to either Tracey or Michael.

- Cheetah and Chastity has a phone number, which was somewhat removed from the final version of the game, they can still be called but they have no dialogue.

- Hiking was going to be a feature for the gameplay but was removed for unknown reason.

- Gyms was going to be a feature for the player to work out in the game was removed, but Franklin is seen working out at the Muscle Sands Gym in the Switch Scenes.

- In the first Trailer, you were able to see a "heat haze effect" just like in real life.

- The Bodhi and the Cabrio were both civilian cars and could be seen regularly. (Seen in the first trailer.)

- The lazer's exhaust flame was orange, not purple also had shock diamonds.

- Admiral (The horn sound of the Admiral can be found in the iFruit app files)

- Combine Harvester (A photo of it can be found inside the game files. It assumed the GTA San Andreas appearance, albeit with a overall green body.[7] A photo of it and police scanner audio are still in the game files)

You must login or register to view this content.

- Esperanto (The horn sound of the Esperanto can be found in the iFruit app files. This implies an appearance of the civilian Esperanto, along with the police variant featured in the Prologue.)

- Faction (The horn sound of the Faction can be found in the iFruit app files. Police scanner audio files also exist in the game files.)

- Hunter (Sound files and police scanner audio have been left in the game's data. It can be seen in the in-game trailer movie for The Simian, as well as on the Warstock Cache & Carry advertisement.)

- Lokus (The horn sound of the Lokus can be found in the iFruit app files.)

- Marbelle (The Willard Marbelle is a four-door sedan from GTA IV that was meant to return, but was cut. Only its handling and police scanner audio remain.)

- Presidente (The horn for the Presidente is in the files of the iFruit app.)

- Uranus (The Uranus is included in GTA V's handling files, suggesting it may have been in the game at one point. Also horn inside iFruit app was found. Only its wrecked form in rural areas can be found.)

- Winky (An unknown cut vehicle, only the audio remains.)

- Elegy (Although there's already an Elegy in the game, another Elegy, possibly meant to be a variant was cut. The current Elegy's model is called "elegy2", suggesting that another variant ("elegy") was cut. Is unknown if it was an older version or a "non-sport" variant.)

- RC Vehicle (An unknown cut vehicle, only the audio remains.)

- Trawler (Unknown fishing boat. Engine, horn and police scanner audio still in the game files.)

- Vulkan (Unknown fighter jet. Police Scanner remains.)

- Digger (Not much is know about this vehicle, but its name suggests that it was a construction vehicle. All that remains are the police scanner audio files. It was likely replaced by the Dozer.)

- Hellfury (The Hellfury from GTA IV was meant to make a return but was cut. Police scanner audio files and horn inside iFruit are still in the game files.)

- TR3 (Not much known, only its police scanner audio files are left in the game files.)

- Cop 55 (Unknown police car. Only Police Scanner remains.)

- Monster Truck (While a Monster Truck is introduced in the Independence Day Special and another one in the PS4/XB1/PC edition of the game, one or more Monster Trucks were meant to appear in the release version. Police scanner audio is still in the game files.)

- Airboat (Unknown Airboat/Fanboat. The only remains are the police scanner referring to its vehicle category. The likely reason for its removal is that airboats are primarily used in swamp-like area's whereas the only in-game location that would be able to use it to it's full potential is in Lago Zancudo.)

- Hydrofoil (Unknown Hydrofoil boat. The only remains are the police scanner referring to its vehicle category.)

- Skateboard (Skateboards were cut, only police scanner remains.)

- Steel Horse (A brand from GTA IV was meant to reappear, only police Scanner remains.)

- Horses (Horses were not only animals, but were also rideable. Horses were cut, but horse-related locations like Vinewood Racetrack, La Fuente Blanca, etc. Police Scanner and much of the files remains.)

- Police Buzzard (There was probably a police variant of the Buzzard helicopter. Texture remains in game files. However, "N230MP" exists in the unarmed Buzzard, which is often used by the LSPD and can spawn wherever Police Mavericks spawn.)

Mission Complete Audios

- There where also "Mission Complete Audios" every character has their own big/small "mission complete sound".

Unused Textures

- A ton of textures which makes the LCPD police computer from Grand Theft Auto IV is here for some reason. When you look in the interior of the Police Interceptor and even the civilian Stanier, you can see a low-res LCPD police computer that's black and white. It could mean that the Police Computer was either scrapped early in development, or might appear in a future DLC.

- There are many unused telephone textures for an app called "LifeInvader" and something similar like "Shazam".

- GTA4 HUD leftovers, there's textures for the radar, thumbs down, dropping a grenade, etc.

You must login or register to view this content.

- Additionally, others have uncovered cut map icons which hint at quite a few missing activities and altered mission mechanics, along with placeholder icons from GTA 4. Plenty of final game assets point to the existence of these activities being in the game at some point in development, such as private security patrols in the wealthy suburbs and Los Santos being littered with abandoned taco trucks.

Build Log

- Inside the game's common.rpf, there is a file called builds.xml that shows a lot of builds, with the earliest dating back to 2009, a year after GTA IV was released. This also mentions the heavily demanded PC version a number of times. There are mentions of various changes made during development, such as "includes new square/3D minimap/satnav" listed in a build created on February 2nd 2012, suggesting that before this the minimap was circular like in previous Grand Theft Auto titles. There are also mentions of "Cops N Crooks" in multiplayer, with players being able to take "crooks" into custody as a "cop", along with mentions of a "stolen car tutorial" and "plate scanner". There is also reference to a "prison break" mission, possibly featuring the heavily detailed but largely unused prison.
Similarly, before the game was released, some configuration files were leaked that mentioned an 'Orbis' version of the game. 'Orbis' was the codename of the PlayStation 4 before release. This was later officially announced at E3 2014 by Sony.

This just makes me sick and angry reading this, all the good things were cut from game. This game could have been just as good as San Andreas, but they failed to hit upon our expectations.
