I've the game but can't seem to start up a police mission.
Do i have to beat half of the game to play a police mission?

I don't think so. I was hoping for one real bad. I've been in several police cars, and a fire engine. No special missions I could see, but some kick ass emergency light packages though.

There are special missions in taxis where you pickup people and drive them to their destination. Just steal a taxi and press L3 on PS3 (whatever that is on Xbox.)
