    Hello,

I'm currently looking into furthering my knowledge into the DNS Records field.

I have a very basic understanding of the meanings and vaguely know what they do.

I am interested if anyone else has any knowledge on this? If so, do you have any good eBooks on this?

    Thanks

    For example:

    Question . What Is Dns?

    Answer :

Domain Name System is a service that can be installed on any windows server operating system to resolve the Name to IPAddress and vice-versa. TCP/IP networks, such as the Internet, use DNS to locate computers and services through user-friendly names.

Check this site out. I used to use it when I was in school studying and needed a quick refresh on DNS related stuff. Very informative. And FREE lol.

    Quick refresher:

AAAA Records are like A records but for IPv6 IP addresses instead of IPv4.

An IPv4 address is a 32-bit address and looks something like this:
    192.186.108.69

An IPv6 address are made of 8 groups of 4 hexadecimal separated by colons and looks like this: 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334

All DNS is used for is to separate networks for different servers by the domain name to make it easier
    Like take Apple for example

    www.apple.com is the www server
    developer.apple.com is the developers servers

apple has so many servers they use DNS to cluster them into the main Apple domain
