If there's one thing that Fallout 3 totally nailed, it's the post-apocalyptic setting. A vast expanse that, save for a few raiders and hordes of putrid mutants, is practically devoid of life, the Capital Wasteland is a devastated and bleak landscape -- so bleak, in fact, that some folks would rather not play the game at all than spend extended amounts of time there.
If you're among the crowd that thinks Fallout 3 could have benefited from a little more healthy vegetation, then you might want to give GreenWorld a look over at Fallout 3 Nexus. Rock, Paper Shotgun spotted this nifty mod, which gives the formerly charred and brittle foliage of the Capital Wasteland a new lease on life -- a subtle tweak that makes the world of Fallout 3 slightly more hospitable.

Obviously, this modification only applies to owners of the PC version of the game. Still, it seems like it's probably worth checking out if you found yourself turned off by Fallout 3's barren wasteland
going green is a beautiful thing.
