if your gaming need to know what cpu and i don't know about the new one but raze's one vid he showed the 8350 butraping some i5s and i7s in gaming so i'd go with that as it overclocks better, runs faster ram and is cheaper. and dont get a newest gen gtx card. get a 7970 or so or a 670, 680

Comes down to how much you want to spend.
Technically AMD is usually cheaper, but if you want some pretty good power here and there I would go with Intel.
I haven't reviewed the haswell chips too much on how great they are besides how excellent they are for laptops that don't have dedicated video cards.

Intel wise? If you have the money I would say - Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition, its possible to clock it to 5Ghz with water cooling, but its fucking hella expensive.
Ram wise? 8GB is the sweet spot with 1333-1600mhz period. You won't notice a major fps boost on 32gb or faster ram speed. Not to mention ram speed gets bottle necked by CPU's power, so to fully take advantage of a overclock ram the CPU would have to be clocking +4.5Ghz period.

and with the 8350 in raze's vid he said all he had to do was up the voltage and the 8350 went up in Ghz and ran very cool, as many of us know ivys run hot and haswell will most likely also
