(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I purchased a pre built "gaming" computer about two years ago and I need to upgrade it. I've since installed a GTX 1060 GPU but now I'm looking for a motherboard/cpu combo. I'm looking at a budget of around $3-500, preferably on the lower end. Also anything else like power supply that I would need. I'm new to building myself so as much help as possible is appreciated.

Honestly nothing salvageable from what I’ve been told. It’s an old outdated motherboard and a slow quad core processor. The guy from the computer store here said there’s not much I can do other than just buy a new board/cpu combo. I can try and find the specs and reply back though.

i am currently building a 12 core 24 threads media server that should run me about $350, the passmark score is about 12k like almost 7k over my i5 4690k.

Here is a look at the build :

That’s a really cheap build for sure! Would something like that work for gaming though since I’m trying to balance my pc with that and streaming?
