EDIT ( Solution ): Go to server browser and join a randon match to go back to your original rank. Then back out and hit quick match, after that you should be good 2 go.

had this yesterday it wasnt actually showing anyones rank some people were still playing lol i just quit the game and restarted it and it was fine :L did think ffs whats going on here then.

so that just made me think it didnt download my settings/progress when it connected to the servers so re-establishing it resolved it.
