IF Your Using CCapi you dont Need Ethernet Cable. Thats for DEX RTM. Install the CCapi PKG 2.00. Find a CEX Compatible Tool.

Oh when I find a CEX tool just open it and follow the steps my ps3 can it be connected to the modem for better connection like to be host

IF You already use Wired Connection for Internet, Go ahead i Suppose. Find a CEX Compatible tool for the Game you want. Launch the Game then Connect Put your PS3 IP and Attach
