Hey all,
This is a tutorial if you are having trouble getting sprx menu's to load on any game assuring that you have all your files pasted correctly.

Note: If you use multiman go to filemanager/dev_hdd0 hover over the tmp folder and press circle, scroll down to permissions and press x. Now go back out and load your game and see if the menu loads if not keep reading.

EBOOT.bin Placed in dev_hdd0/game/Bles0xxx/usrdir/
Yourmenu.sprx Placed in dev_hdd0/tmp/

If all your files are in the correct place and they still wont work the permissions on your tmp folder have changed this is how to fix it:

Step 1: Plug your usb into your ps3's right port, now open your file manager (Multiman/irisman/ftp)

Step 2: Navigate to dev_hdd0 and open it, scroll down and you will see a folder named tmp select it and copy to your usb dev_usbhdd0

Step 3: Open up your usb dev_usbhdd0 in your file manager and make sure you can see the tmp file in there,if it is go back to your hard drive folder dev_hdd0 and delete the tmp folder.

Step 4: Plug your usb into your pc, and cut and paste your tmp folder from your usb to the desktop

Step 5: Open up the tmp folder on your desktop and put in the sprx and txt file(if you need one) eg. gtavmenu.sprx , gtavmenulicensekey.txt

Step 6: Once that's done, drag the folder back on to your usb, plug it into your ps3's right port and copy and paste it back into your hard drive dev_hdd0!

By doing this it resets the permissions on your tmp folder, you can change your permissions directly through ftp but they wont always stick this method will work and only takes 2 minutes.Hope this helped!

You do know that not every SPRX belongs in /dev_hdd0/tmp/ right?

possibly, but black ops 2 and gta 5 is the most highly played games that use the tmp folder, that i know of but this method really works though

The maker of the eboot chooses where to load the sprx from, there is no game that uses the tmp folder for sprx. Im going to quote Joren to help you understand this better: "most use tmp because it is always there" people put it there because its always accessible as opposed to say the root of your ps3.
