I have a question about this one, though: do you know what the hex values are for the different locations? I can find the place where your code points to, but how do we know what values to put there? Do we just have to experiment, or keep making saves at various locations, then look at the values for each one? Or do you have a list you would be willing to share? I'm wondering if this code might help solve some of the problems I've been having when swapping characters and stages...

I wonder if the codes are limited to typewriter locations (and possibly autosave points), or if there are different codes for virtually anywhere on the map? Either way, I'm hoping this will prevent some of the setbacks that occur when swapping characters (like spawning in the wrong place, or being forced to trigger cutscenes that crash the game because of the model swap).

If I feel up to it, and have the time/patience, I might try to compile a list of the location values for everyone here.

Okay, so using Xx-GIPPI-xX's code above, I've found the hex values for all the typewriter locations in the game. (There are 19 in total.) I've listed them in the table below.

Unfortunately, so far I haven't been able to do anything useful with them. Changing the location code alone usually just spawns the characters in a black void outside the playable area, or else it doesn't change anything at all and they start where they did before I changed the code. One of my saves wouldn't even load (probably because I was trying to make Leon start in the Orphanage, which is exclusive to Claire's scenario).

So when just changing the location didn't help, I tried changing the stage as well (using Xx-GIPPI-xX's Stage Swap code), but this didn't make a difference either. :(

I noticed that, regardless of where my characters spawned - even when they were in a black void far from any recognizable location - the map still said they were where the original save took place, so I'm struggling to understand what exactly this hex value does/means. I'm hoping Xx-GIPPI-xX can explain how this Location Code can be used, and why I haven't been able to get it to work so far. Xx-GIPPI-xX, help!!! Eek

NOTE: The autosave locations also have their own hex values, but I'm only posting the typewriter location values for now, because there are around 40 autosaves in Leon's 1st scenario alone (I took notes while playing through the game yesterday), and it will take forever to transfer each autosave individually using my USB drive. I don't even want to think about doing it for the other 3 scenarios...especially if there's nothing useful we can do with them. If Xx-GIPPI-xX (or anyone else) can help me understand what they can be used for, then I'll probably be willing to make the effort.
