so you want to record, say if you were running a game, all the noise the game was making while you were playing?

im assuming you are,(in audacity) well what you want to do is go into Edit > Prefrences > Device : Stero Mix

this should record all sounds being output through your speakers/headphones.

hmmm, try turing your computers volume down.

go into control panel, audio hardware, manage audio devices (i think) recording, stero mix, proprties, levels and turn that down.

Also you might want to reinstall your audio device drivers.
