1. Bring out the melee weapon your duplicating (hold it) then tab LB/L1 so it brings out your fists.
2. Then let the person you're giving it too kill you.

(If you're collecting the melee weapon)

1. After the person has done their part, when you kill them, aim your gun at their body and the minute you see the body flash/fade away, shoot it (works best with a shotgun) and the melee weapon should just be there.
