Post: How to Pair PS3 Sixaxis Controller to iOS [Ubuntu]
03-20-2013, 12:04 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGUers,

This is my latest tutorial, and it will be how to pair your PS3 controller with iOS using Ubuntu. The reason I post this now is because I looked for a tutorial myself, but I couldn't find one but (somehow) managed to work it out myself, so I'm here to share my knowledge.

This tutorial was done on iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 and Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal.

Requirements:
Jailbroken iPhone
"Blutrol" tweak
Sixaxis controller and USB cable

Step 1: Install QtSixA via terminal.

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:falk-t-j/qtsixa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install qtsixa

Step 2: Plug your controller into your computer via the USB port.

Step 3: Get the bluetooth address from your phone via Settings > General > About. It should look like:
Bluetooth xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Step 4: Change the bluetooth master of your controller from the PS3 to your phone.

    sudo sixpair xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Step 5: Install Bluetrol from Bigboss ($6.99) or from your favourite alternative repo.

Step 6: Open Bluetrol and go to the Controller tab. Click the PS3 option and connect your phone.

Step 7: Enjoy.

Windows and Mac tutorials are much easier, but who needs a common OS right?
