Lost in the mix of the the usual Japanese news this week was a bit of good news for Armored Core fans. According to Famitsu, the long-running franchise is finally getting another entry on the PSP. Unfortunately, it's a port. A really old port.
Eight Armored Core games ended up being developed for the PlayStation 2, with many saying that Last Raven was the best of them. Armored Core 3, however, was the third PS2 entry, debuting all the way back in 2002.

Nevertheless, it's getting a port. Go figure.

Relatively speaking though, AC3 isn't that bad, and most will probably prefer it to the more non-traditional Armored Core: Formula Front. The new PSP port will also be throwing in ad-hoc wireless play and new customizable parts, which should make fans happy.

With all of the Armored Core games having made it to America at some point or another, hardcore mecha junkies can probably expect this one sooner than later.
