Assuming you are playing on PS4 maybe your PS4 automatically updated it? I was in the middle of a crucible match and it kicked everyone and we had to download it. Maybe you are on a different system? PS4 already has the update.

No update yet and I'm on the ps4

I'm on ps3. I'm actually scared to update it, I'm afraid that if I update it I'll get the error screen again since I'm on DEX.

Did it automatically update? Everyone I was playing with got kicked and forced to update.
