(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi guys,
I've got a jail broken PS3 running on 4.80 dex and I was wondering if I took out my 40gb and placed my 80gb in would I need to revert it back to 3.55 or could I just carry on using it as soon as I format the hdd? Or reinstall 4.80 Dex?

Many thanks in advance

1. Insert the new hdd into your ps3
2. Boot ps3 into recovery mode
3. Select option "restore ps3 system"
This will format the hdd to the ps3 and wipe everything (games, saves, etc)
When it is finished, you will be brought to a black screen asking for your last syscall(last cfw installed)
4. install your cfw (if it doesn't let you or something, then yea downgrade first and then install your cfw)

Ive seen a couple of my ps3s not even require me to reinstall the firmware, just pop the hard drive in, let it format, and done..
