I thought you couldnt sign in if there was new updates available its never happened before if ther was new updates my ps3 says if you dont install the latest update you can sign into PSN.

Sony made it optional to update to that firmware, you don't have to update.

Unless it's got security fixes, it's not going to be mandatory, you can bet your ass that 3.70 will though. :p

^^ As they said, it's optional. Best off not updating until a mandatory update is released though, just to be safe
