I installed the CFW for it and it is now running on that. I have another PS3 on 3.65 and want to host lobbies on that. All I have to do is put the patch for MW2 on the 3.55 CFW and then use an ethernet cable to data transfer over the patch to 3.65 and play it on there. Am I going in the right path or have I skipped a step?

You don't have to spoof 3.65 on the 3.55 to transfer. :lol:
You can always transfer from one PS3 to another as long as the firmware on the one that your transferring to is the same or higher than the one that you are transferring from.
