Nope, you can just delete them & install them when it prompts you to on run time.

when i come up with the update for it to work do you need every update for it like bo2 is 2 updates from 1.09 - 1.19 does that mean i have to download the update from 1.0 to 1.19 for it to work??

It will re download all the patches it needs when you run the game.
Yes, you can boot from the disk.
