You can now plug your USB 200GB or whatever you have onto your PS3. All you need to do is follow the below steps:

1) Format your External Hard Drive or Flash Memory (FAT32)
2) Create the Following Fodlers

-- PICTURE
-- MUSIC
-- VIDEO

3) and Your External Hard Drive is ready to be used.

With the 60GB/20GB you will also have (External HDD which can be more than 500GB)


This is also a starting point for hackers to hack, and you can save your ISOs onto your External-HDD

sony released a terrabyte external HDD a while back, no-one bought it cos it cost as much as a ps3

u both dumb lol my buddy bought a 1 terabyte hdd for 150 bucks at best buy and formatted it and plugged it into his ps3 simple as that lol i have an 80 gb ps3 hdd from another ps3 hooked up to mine

you can do this with any external hdd right? at least thats what i thought. worked with all the hdds i tried it with.

this will work with a 2TB External HDD right? but ill probably partion it to be 1TB NTFS and 810GB FAT32

i've been doing this forever with my 180gb external that i formatted to FAT32 so i could put my downloaded movies on it and watch on ps3. works awesome.

only thing that sucks is you have to remember, FAT32 can only handle files under 4gb so on my larger 720p and 1080p movies i have to split them into a few files....
