Try reinstall firmware if restarted the PS3 didn't work

For some reason it only did it with 1 of my controllers. I restored default settings and it loaded hame once I changed the np environment to np. But when I join online games I'm by myself or a couple other people. I'm gonna try reinstalling the game first. But never reinstalled the firmware before I had my stuff done by a friend. There a link?
