Just do one race in B-Spec with G. Boone (lvl.29)

I just tried this using G.Boone and after the race it says how much XP I got for that race, but it doesn't add to G.Boone's XP. It just stays at 29 and it shows B-Spec at level 40 overall.

The last race i do for the trophy its in extreme

i dont understand why after a race it shows how much xp the race rewards me with but it doesn't transfer to the driver to put him over level 29. what race under extreme do you do for it to work?
