Do you think Sony is planning to stop producing games and supporting the PlayStation 3 anytime soon? ...I don't think so.
Some are saying PS3 will officially be dead by Winter 2016 but I doubt that. The console still has life inside it and still seems to be going strong. I find myself playing my PS3 more than the PS4, anybody else?

Hmm i think it will be longer than 2016, there is still tons of people on ps3 probably Most Are Playing CoD but Yea i would say maybe 2017 is where it might start dying.
Soon or later the cost of supporting the servers will out weigh the profits from it..i see it happeneing when nextgen consoles have a large drop in price
