It is a factory refurbished cechlo1. I pulled it out the box and turned it on and after 3 secs it shut down with a red flashing light. I read online that this is a bluray drive malfunction. I decided to screw around with it anyway and ended up fixing the problem. Here is the fix; I turned on the console and immediately put a game in. It didnt shut off and booted to recovery screen. I removed the disc and updated to 4.80 ofw. Problem solved. This may not be a fix for a seasoned consoles having this issue as I also understand that the red flashing light is a general hardware error. This worked for me in this particular situation. omg i had the same problem once i threw my ps3 in the bin though
