Sony is "actively push[ing]" for PlayStation 4 developers to deliver games that render at 60FPS/1080p, according to a developer working on the console.

Discussing the differences between PS4 and Xbox One with You must login or register to view this content., Stewart Gilray, who is working on a secret PS4 game at Just Add Water, said:

"We might see slightly smoother framerates on PS4. We're working with Sony right now, and they're trying to actively push 60 frames per second, 1080p.

"You might get situations where the graphics will be a little, but not much, lower quality on the Xbox One," he continued. "Or, you might get some fixed at 30 frames per second situations in 1080p. It depends on the scale of the game.

"If your game is going to push the heck out of the PS4, you might have to do some little tweaks [for the Xbox One version]. But if you design your game to work on Xbox One at 60, it's going to work on PS4 at 60."

The difference in performance will likely come down to the boost offered by PS4's 8GB GDDR5 RAM, which Gilray previously told VideoGamer.com had been You must login or register to view this content. prior to the console's reveal.

In comparison, Xbox One features You must login or register to view this content., of which 3GB are reserved for system resources.
Both consoles are due to launch later this year.

I have never been so exciting for the PS4. I really hope that BF4 (and other games too) plays at 60 FPS with 1080p, it will look sick!

So far , the XBOX is failing right now with all the stuff they're doing and the specs that are lower and weaker than the PS4. My friends still thinks that the XBOX is better and powerful then the PS4, I just want to slap him in the face :dumb:

Hahaha, same problem here. Don't understand how they can think that (After all the negative online), but don't want to push them either xD lol
The worst thing is that they think they will enjoy tv, movies, sports etc, but it's not gonna come to our country in a looooooooong time :P

i have a few friends like this, deluded i say. like RTS has highlighted in the past a few things sony needs to learn from xbox is how to use a proper invite system and chat/messaging system. although sonys ares ok a dedicated invite join session system is definately needed other then that i cant see anything else needed. ive had both and i know what one im sticking with. i cant see how people can be naive to say xbox has a better connection online. as long as you have a decent broadband connection its exactly the same, but you dont pay for psn and sometimes theres maintenance but it very rarely stops you signing in, maybe like once a year.
