You can try to get some modder waste his time for giving xp lobby infection, or get jailbroken ps3. =D

I've been looking for a jailbroken ps3 for a while now just none in my price range (about $100-$250)

You can also buy phat ps3(Always downgradeble) or try to find CECH-20/21xx slims(usually 120GB slims) and go to some professional who downgrade ps3s. (In my country there are downgraders who charge 50€, and the ps3 you would have to buy might be 80$-150$)
But the risk is, the downgrader might take your console ID.
You could buy e3 flasher/progskeet(80-100$) and downgrade by yourself, but i'm not recommending it for beginners.

Yea, i was just gonna buy a ps3 console on 3.55 already and jailbreak it from there. I wouldn't know which jailbreak to use though because i wouldn't know which one is/was the best. Anyone you prefer are the best (Jailbreaks)?

Well he can downgrade him self but he need to do research because I did it my self (For the first time) And now I got a downgrading service for 40 bucks(Only US) and I have done it more than 40 times in this years.

No i cant downgrade myself because i have the newest version of ps3 available for retail.
