On the phat psp has alot more options and hacks your able to do. The slim versions are a bit smaller , but are harder ( in some cases) to hack.

i would wait. the current PSP is ok but i reckon with modern technology you can wait for Psp2 and it will be awesomee

i would get a psp slim, it doesn't support as much homebrew as a psp phat but it's still good.
Just make sure u don't buy a psp 3000

Yes I know a lot hacks my 2 old psp's where both modded.. but they both broke my fat psp fell off my bed.. and my slim.. my best friend which is 6'1 steeped on it
