Skyrim PS3/PC Save Converter - Mod your save (Works for OFW)

This is a tool/method which will allow you to decrypt you PS3 gamesave and re-encrypt back after modding. The decrypted save can simply be loaded up the the PC version of the game for you to mod as you wish, or you can edit bits of your save by simply hex editing.

WORKS ON OFW + CFW
WORKS FOR ALL REGIONS

By decrypting your save file this allows you to:

  • Select a different race or gender
  • Fix broken quests
  • Fix broken dialog
  • Cleanup your quest log from logs that will not remove
  • Add any items
  • Remove unremovable quest items
  • Increase your carry weight
  • Increase your damage dealth (insta-kill)
  • Increase your run speed
  • Increase health/stamina/magicka
  • Cleanup Ash piles/dead dragons/dead people that will not auto cleanup
  • Resurrect dead NPCs
  • Increase followers skills and health/stamina/magicka
  • Add perks
  • Add all spells
  • Add all shouts
  • Add dragon souls
  • Add money
  • Create semi custom vanilla weapons (only if they exist in the vanilla game, not in ESP/ESM files
    and more

Requirements:
PS3 (Can be CFW or OFW)
USB Stick (To copy the save of course)
HxD Hex Editor - You must login or register to view this content.
Skyrim PS3 Version (obviously)
Skyrim PC Version (To modify the decrypted save - optional)
Skyrim PS3 Toolkit GUI - [You must login or register to view this content. - MEDIAFIRE[/url]
Modio (optional for xbox saves) - You must login or register to view this content.

Noob-Friendly Tutorial:

Step One - Preparation
First you need to copy your gamesave to a FAT32 formatted USB Stick/Harddrive. It should save to the location: PS3 > SAVEDATA.

Now download the You must login or register to view this content. and extract the contents anywhere on your pc. Then take your PS3 gamesave from USB and place in this folder. Should look similar to this:

You must login or register to view this content.

(optional): make a backup of your save file before continuing to Step Three

Step Two - Decryption
Now run the Skyrim PS3 Toolkit GUI.exe and drag in your save folder into the left box (decryption). Text should appear to confirm the gamesave has been decrypted.

You must login or register to view this content.

Go into your save folder and open the file "SYS-DATA" in an hex editor. If the decryption is successful you should see your character name / time played / locations and Race at the top of the file as seen below:

You must login or register to view this content.

NOTE: You can replace your decrypted save with ANY pc gamesave if you wish to replace your save with something different. If you do this, simply rename the PC save to SYS-DATA and replace yours. Then you can skip step 3 and on to step4.

Step Three - Modding
Ok, so now you have a decrypted PS3 save which can be simply loaded up on PC by adding the file extension - .ess

You must login or register to view this content.

Once loaded up you can easily mod using console commands. Check the 2 links below for endless possibilities.

You must login or register to view this content.

After you have finished modded your save on pc, save it and retrieve the .ess gamesave. Normally at the location:
C:\Users\"your username"\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

Step Four - Encryption
Before encrypting the file back to PS3, open the decrypted save (.ess) in an hex editor and change the value at offset 11 to 07 as shown below:
You must login or register to view this content.
This is the version number and you may get errors when loading up the save if this isnt 07.

You can now rename you .ess gamesave back to SYS-DATA and overwrite your original decrypted save in your gamesave folder. This is now ready to be encrypted back to PS3.

Simply Drag / Drop the SYS-DATA onto the right window:

You must login or register to view this content.

Thats it!!!
You can now simply copy your gamesave back to PS3 and load it up.

Enjoy

If for some reason the tool isnt encrypting for you, check this post on how to do it manually: You must login or register to view this content.

Converting XBOX Save to PS3/PC

Run Modio and select the option "Open a Save", locate your xbox save (.exs) and open it.

You must login or register to view this content.

Should show a box like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Now click on the tab "File Contents" and you should see "Savegame.dat"
This is the decrypted xbox save which can replace the PC save or decrypted PS3 save

XBOX decrypted (.dat) = PC standard (.ess) = PS3 decrypted (SYS-DATA)

All you need to do is right click and extract the file

You must login or register to view this content.

You can now load this .dat up on PC by renaming to .ess
Or replace your decrypted PS3 save and encrypt.

The numbers after the first two don't matter as much; my PS3 version is 1.8.183.0.7, while I'm using 1.8.151.0.7 on the PC. Hopefully when 1.9 is released on PS3, that'll solve a lot of people's problems with the process.

*That includes all DLC - if you have Dragonborn on PS3, you need to have it on your PC version as well, and so on with all 3 DLC available.

make 2 bat files, put in same folder:

decrypt
    pfdtool.exe -g BLES01329 -d %1% SYS-DATA

encrypt
    pfdtool.exe -g BLES01329 -e %1% SYS-DATA

then you simply drag your save folder on to the bat, it will decrypt / encrypt

I tried the game id you supplied and and my game id ("BLUS30778") and both gave the error of "A dish hash key was not found. A fallback disc hash will be used."

I belive the format of games.conf may be corrupted. How is it supposed to be? I tried fixing the formatting and still my file wont decrypt. Maybe 64 bit issue? I tried using admin command prompt still doesnt work

Could someone try decrypting my SYS-DATA for me? I just want it to play on PC and I can't get it to work...
