It's been about 6 month's since Star Wars Battlefront was released, and with numerous free released like multiplayer maps, Hoth-themed hero outfits, and a expansion that made Jabba the Hutt hand out Hutt Contracts for powerful weapons. People that have the expansion pack got a few extra releases like travels to the factories of Sullust in the Outer rim and to the Cloud City of Bespin.

The Star Wars Battlefront community has been giving EA feedback on numerous things that they should or can do for their Multiplayer and Single player game. The community wanted more offline modes for the game, so EA announced a new mode called Skrimish, for all Star Wars Battlefront players.

The new game mode will go live starting July 21st and will offer players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend playing co-op split screen. This expansion will be coming out for Consoles only. Skirmish can be played on different levels of difficulty of your choosing, and there will be two different modes for you to play "Walker Assault" and "Fighter Squadron", there will be multiple spawn points within the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth all the way to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust. EA said that they hope that Skirmish will bring the Star Wars players a new way to enjoy the game.

If the offline mod isn't for you, EA has more multiplayer events planned for the summer. They will be releasing more Hutt Contracts for new weapons, log-in rewards, and an open trial to experience Bespin.
