will you be able to run custom online patches persay WaW like god mode ect..... with this? instead of having 2 ps3's?

I would say yes. You have to downgrade, then install all your patches, then upgrade back to OFW. The dual booting feature requires separate HDD's. Just remember every-time you downgrade you will have to start from scratch.

EDIT: You can backup a load of patches first before you upgrade.

That's exactly what will happen. When you go into factory service mode to downgrade the LV2-diag.self that installs your lower firmware formats the HDD. Being that this is a direct flash from the E3 Flasher it may not format. But what I have been reading up on around the net is that when you downgradg it formats the HDD.

Just go into to System Settings on the XMB and use the Backup utility and you will be fine. Do this for every patch you want to use. Backup utility also has a restore feature to access you backup files. Every time you restore from a backup you have have to reactivate your DLC. You do not have to re-download and install. After activation is completed you can just cancel the download.
