(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sony's CFO Masaru Kato has stated in a earning call today that 'Sony does not foresee major losses like the PS3 had on lauch for the PS4 this year'
Well known the PS3 hit the Sony bottom line hard when it launched with the hardware costing the companies billions to make on top of production costs which crippled the company for years to come.
Sony invested loads of money into R&Awesome face just to make the cell on top of facilities investment which Sony owned outright. Only a couple years back did Sony get some of that money back by selling off its Cell centers.
This time around a partnership AMD which designed the PS4 chipset has meant lower costs for Sony.
No sales forecast has been released the company also released its profit details this year.

Good news all around it means Sony may be able to turn it around right now its credit rating is one above junk. Lack of any real AAA products means Sony has found it hard to counter the rise of apple or any of its rivals. Hoping this means a turn around so that Sony can put money into a killer product to avoid the end of Sony.
