The Xbox is by no means going to fail. It has a large fan base many of whom don't care about DRM etc.
True fans of Xbox will buy the One and given that the Xbox has a wider scope of features than the PS4, they will also gain sales from the more casual market.
Nevertheless I still believe that the PS4 will come out on top, but only time will tell
