Cake is a lie
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'll try to keep this short by my standards at least and expect at least two negative remarks about MW3's Support strike package(yes even in a BO2 thread).

So post patch on Xbox 360 and PS3 I must say the game still feels about the same as before which is mostly a good thing. SMGs weren't really nerfed honestly unless you're silly enough to be trying to pick people off from range with a silenced Skorpion... So I'll make some quick hits on things.

1.) SMGs vs Assault Rifles.
The map design, objective based score streak system and Ghost nerfs forces people to be aggressive to have success the easiest. I don't really agree with forcing people to rush because the idea that everyone camps has become the biggest excuse in any COD. Out of a 12 person lobby only really 4 people are generally camping anyway and they are usually the worst players on the team. People seem to think whenever a guy is ready for them as they enter a room that guy had to be waiting all game. When in reality UAVs, VSATS, you killing a teammate, or throwing a nade can tip someone off that you're coming. I'm fine with this aggressive style play though which makes it funny when people bitch about the guys rushing having "overpowered tryhard guns." I started MW2 "running around pressing buttons" then I camped in fear(lol) then I learned how to rush effectively ie Sensivity, Sound Whoring, drop shots, burst firing, flank routes, most likely camper areas, etc and I'm by no means MLG pro. Most COD players either camp in low traffic areas in fear or they just run out in the open practically begging to be killed with the reaction time of a turtle.

I enjoy the FAL and AN94 but a good SMG user will generally own a good AR user in CQC. If you play aggressive but use angles, cover and OCCASIONAL head glitch spots AR can compete. I have Diamond SMGs and only one Gold AR. Until we get bigger maps, no reason for me to use anything but SMG. Of course boredom will change that.

2.) Score Streaks
. The Lodestar feels exactly the same and is still 2nd best streak after VSAT imo. A.G.R. is better but ONE C4 taking it out is funny. Stealth Chopper, and Escort Drone still best mid level streaks and Swarms is only really great when you pair it with K9. I could definitely feel the Swarm nerf. Warthog is a little more useful but still not worth the score. Warship is fun to use but clearly Lodestar is better. I LOVE BO2 score streaks and strangely enough I earned a K9 with literally 3 kills in last 20 seconds of Domination and 5 Flag caps between 2 Domination rounds LMAO. I generally let the enemy lay on flags until I shoot them or I wait until enemies are near to capture theirs for the extra points. I'm also cursed to where if I use lower streaks I can't get enough score to earn but if I use medium-higher ones I can earn them. It's not because I play any less aggressive so I'm not sure why that is.

3.) Perks. Great the way they are. Flak Jacket helps a lot on objectives especially the way people just chuck Frag nades all game. Tac Mask is a MUST for me. At first it was because of Shock Charges but also because people just chuck tac nades too. EMP grenade is the best tactical nade by far and the most annoying. You get the same amount of points per assist as Flash/Stun AND added benefit of it destroying equipment, streaks and taking away enemies HUD for seemingly an eternity. Hard Wired class is necessary against those annoying CUAV with EMP nade guys. Ghost is still pretty damn important as well but really only if you creep into enemy spawns(with OP SMGs in hand of course). Recently swapped out Perk 3 greed with Dexterity for Perk 2 and Toughness and I'm not missing Dexterity. The slow climbing sucks but Toughness really decreases flinch more than any previous COD perk. Oh and C4 is the way to go...

4.) "Objective" players. Let's be honest two things a member here said that made sense to me are this: a.) usually the worst players are the one crying about objectives and b.) blaming the guy that's 50-1 on your team losing is pretty stupid.

The dirty secret in BO2 is that killwhores are at the biggest advantage. A true "killwhore" knows that capturing B or at the least defending it while you capture it helps himself and the rest of the team. Being "objective" isn't some hard noble task. If you can killwhore you can play objective, usually not the other way around. A "killwhore" knows to cover different directions, use smoke, and even Flak Jacket on a flag or make the judgement call to clear out defenders before just Dolphin Diving on the B flag. In Kill Confirm people basically try to steal tags all game. It's so annoying to get a triple kill and then some knife only guy who is going to die in .5 seconds runs over the tag that you were next to. Because for one, he just cancelled out the tag he collected and two he cheated you out of 75 points closer to a VSAT. All lives in BO2 aren't created equal guys. This isn't like BO or MW2 or even MW3 where guys could just ignore the objectives all in the name of getting streaks because in reality streaks are easier through objective play. So blame the 5-20 quick scoper and not the 20-5 earning VSATs. The annoying people are those ignoring objectives AND not getting kills. If you're not going to have 4+ captures you damn sure better have 7+ defends.

Lastly, Target Finders are still annoying but I've adjusted to life without Cold Blooded. Since the 5+ extra kills that Scavenger or Toughness could yield outweighs the 2-3 deaths Cold Blooded helps you barely counter against Target Finder guys. Plus enemy controlled streaks like Lodestar and Warship will usually rape you anyway if you're near a teammate.

I think the game could just use a few more connection tweaks. It's got the action of an IW game but is getting a tad boring like 3arc games tend to get. Imagine getting a VSAT, Lodestar, or Swarm +K9 combo and some 11-20 Support guy could just EMP you. I popped in MW3 the other night and some of you are still using Support, SMFH...

Biggest adjustment I had was going from a 40% SMG guy to 85% SMG guy. From Spawn trapping to entering enemy spawns. I also still play in parties of course which makes the game way easier I will admit.

In Flames Much?
I got to the stage now where I don't listen for footsteps or audio , just put some music on as I play.
Been trying out some new setups for ARs and found a good one or a couple. Started to not use the silencer too which is amazing.
Still not feeling any of the higher killstreaks even against bots I rather use a vsat as my highest.
Started to use ARs a lot too many some LMG use soon.

Overall I like the game , got some issues like with shotguns and poor challenge design. Long with the normal call of duty faults we all know and love.
Problem is with call of duty it very hard to work out what could have done better pretty random.
