No, it's not a shocker: Activision has this evening confirmed that a new Call of Duty title will hit later this year.
The publisher didn't confirm if the game is a sequel to Modern Warfare 2 or, most likely, one of the historical versions of the franchise that visits famous theatres of war.
But what it did say was that while it doesn't necessarily expect the new game to be as big a hit as MW2, it expects further franchise growth in 2010.

Couldn't agree more. Although the single player was terrible on WaW, their Zombie idea was brilliant and the multiplayer actually takes skill unlike mw2. Let's see more developed Zombie maps in the next one. And I heard that it will be set in Vietnam, which means M16, Ak47's etc.

MW2 is gonna be hard to beat in my eyes but i changed from MW1 to WaW tho. they better have an automatic region filter like MW2 or its an instant no from me
